This did not feel like staying in a hotel but as a guest in a beautiful stately home. On arrival I thought I had got it wrong as I walked into this beautiful charming home. The owner and his family were quite prominent and very relaxed making us feel relaxed also. Just a short drive from the centre of Cambridge, would most definitely stay here again.
Enjoyed our conversations with the charming owner and daughter; and we did have a very nice room. There were also so many interesting oddities among the hall's furnishings to hold one's attention.
Most friendly, Fantastic views of the gardens, so helpful. Room was amazing. Great breakfast. Can't wait to go back, proves you don't have to go far to have a feeling of being a million miles away.
The house is beautiful and you are able to walk around and let it feel like your own home. The girl that checked us in was lovely, really friendly and showed us around. I love the feel of the history of the house and the honesty bar is great!
The atmosphere of Anstey Hall makes it really stand out; incredibly friendly, welcoming, cosmopolitan, and quirky. The eccentric, eclectic and amazing mix of furniture, decoration, art (and people) complements both the building as well as the atmosphere perfectly. It was the second time I stayed there, but I shall be very happy to go back again.
Wonderfully different. Great room and en suite was fantastic. Friendly staff and the location next to the Cambridge park and ride, as well as a couple of nice pubs and still in the countryside ticked all the boxes.
What a great place, with fantastic staff and of course a beautiful setting. It was so much like being at one's own country house. Well done, I will certainly stay there again.
Loved the building inside and out, and unexpected bonus of an upgrade which was lovely. Loved watching the wildlife from balcony in the evening & early morning, Staff very friendly & helpful. Great breakfast. Highly recommend this place.
Nice, comfortable bedrooms in a good location. Kind staff, stunning library with a picturesque garden view! It is a place of interest, which is historic Grade I building - the staff gave me a volume of information on the history of the manor. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
Anstey Hall was a lovely old property. The staff were excellent and you are made to feel very welcome making our stay comfortable, it felt like we were in someone's home. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the honesty bar is a nice touch. We would definitely stay again.
Superb B&B in a beautiful setting. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We were in room 5, facing a field full of rabbits and could have watched them all day. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful, the honesty bar and billiard table were nice facilities. We thought this was great value for money and will return next year.
The house was very quirky with lots of antiques and curios to look at, being bike owners we loved the old bike in the breakfast room !! The location was very quiet as was the house and it felt like we were just guests in the owners home rather than a hotel. Please don't expect a `waited on experience ` it is relaxed and non pretentious.
A fabulous place that is really special. It is not your usual bed and breakfast destination but a country house with an eclectic mix of décor and furniture. We booked what turned out to be a very comfortable room with four poster bed, everything you need and a lovely bathroom with roll top bath, shower etc. There was a lovely help yourself breakfast which had a very extensive selection to choose from.
Breakfast was amazing, the bath was really cool and vintage, it was a peaceful area, the staff were helpful and friendly, lovely pub with nice food just around the corner, room was amazing, we really had an incredible time. I am from Denmark and wanted to have a cozy English experience in a Victorian style castle, and that's what I got.
